Lying lies by Republican lying liars.... What else is new?
TPM Election Central | Talking Points Memo | New McCain Ad Badly Distorts Obama's Words About Iran
The lying and cheating McCain camp has come up with a wholly distorted ad suggesting that Obama thinks Iran doesn't pose a serious threat. It's a gigantic pack of lies, designed to fool the uninformed voter, and it will work unless it is countered.
But here's what Obama really said:
"Strong countries and strong Presidents talk to their adversaries. That's what Kennedy did with Khrushchev. That's what Reagan did with Gorbachev. That's what Nixon did with Mao. I mean think about it. Iran, Cuba, Venezuela -- these countries are tiny compared to the Soviet Union. They don't pose a serious threat to us the way the Soviet Union posed a threat to us. And yet we were willing to talk to the Soviet Union at the time when they were saying we're going to wipe you off the planet."
Absolutely despicable politics. Gutter smears at their worst. I am sure the Harper-cons are taking notes and are ready to take many of Dion's remarks and slant them just the same.

you might have a point buuut, alqaida, a small time terrorist group based in some far away little country, run by some extremist taliban whos army is composed of men on a camel with an ak47, and a radio, declared war on america. The american laughed and said "ya, you and whos army". The rest is history, the point is dont let your guard down, and I dont blame them.
Whats worse?
McCain's ad?
Or the liberals in the last election trashing our troops by telling Canadians they would be patrolling "our cities"?
Anonymous #1, just who let their guard down? George Bush and his Republican Congress did. You make a valid point, I can't blame America for wanting better, which is why Obama is the choice.
Anonymous #2, the Liberals did not trash our troops, they trashed Harper. And by the way, did Harper ever follow through on that promise? Nope, oh jeez another lying politician breaking promises... same old same old.
