Conservatives fire back but they are forgetting something....

Here is the article on CTV.ca. It seems the Conservatives and dare I say it, their "conservative-biased" media friends have forgotten one important thing when they compare the "Soldiers with Guns" ad with the "Chretien mouth" ad... One aired on national television and the other didn't.

That said, if it was not intended to air on TV, then why the heck was it on the website.

Seems my party has the reverse of the problem the Reformatories had a few weeks ago.

The Libs put them on their website before they aired them, even owning up to ads that they are not even going to air.

Sheesh!

Cross your fingers that this gamble works, it could mean the difference between a Harper minority and a Harper majority.

Please, please, please people... keep them in check!

An important distinction. One that will doubtless be lost on our Conservative friends.

As for ex-ndip, s/he is insane. The fascist analogy is pretty funny.

Red Tory....

I think you and I agree on a lot of things... and on this one you really have my unequivocal agreement.

EX-NDIP is a nut-job. I do like reading his comments on my blog. Every time I read it, he/she convinces me that I should never support his/her agenda or party.

He somehow conveniently forgot that the GOP (Republican Party) has taken the cake as the party of entitlement and corruption down here in the US.

Let's ask about what happened in 2002 in New Hampshire, well that was an illegal Republican phone-jamming incident on election day.

How about those flyers during the 2004 presidential campaign that circulated in lower-income, african-American neighbourhoods. You know, the ones that said if you're behind on your child-support payments you better not vote, 'cause they could throw you in jail right there. Who came up with those ones?

Oh maybe it was the Republicans!

Left-right, doesn't matter there are examples on all sides of illegal and immoral behaviour.

My problem with your comments EX-NDIP is that you turn a blind eye to whatever "your guys" do, and paint every liberal (small and large L) as corrupt, immoral, criminal... whatever.

Do you have the guts to create your own blog? Or, are you just going to continue to be a troll lurking around liberal blogs?

Jasen,

Let me clarify. I didn't mean to assert that the military ad was the gamble.

I think the military ad is bad, and that is just based on what I have read about it, as I have not had a chance to see it myself.

The gamble, in my opinion, is how the other negative ads will play out and what effect they will have on the horse race.

Like all negative ads, there are possible positive and negative outcomes for this ad campaign. That is the gamble.

Now, that said, it may be all of naught with the negative sh*t storm that is swirling around the soldiers ad.

And it didn't even air on national TV. But everyone who is really tuned in at this point knows about this.

I personally hope that it is only the bloggers and the pundits who notice and care. Though, they (especially the pundits) can push/embellish the reverberations of this (the latest) gaffe.

Jasen, I do blame the Martin brain-trust for how poorly this campaign has been run. In this instance they have really bungled it, especially the damage control.

See Jason Cherniak's blog, he has a good post on this.
