More McCain/Republican Lying
Rachael Maddow and the MSNBC Countdown crew call McCain and Palin for what they are... liars.
So, how can people be so blind? Republicans and Palin-apologists you occasionally read my blog, surely you must see these comments as lies?

It's not blindness. It's willing to turn a blind eye. There is a difference.
People take the ingredients and make it what they want, then call it a justification.
For example, if a Democratic Presidential candidate had a spouse who had belonged to a party for any length of time that had even an inkling of a secessionists platform, the candidate would be hung out to dry and have darts slung at them for good measure.
But with the new shiny sheen of Sarah Palin, it instead becomes just another sign of her "true independent nature" and proves "she's not like any other politician" and - besides - that's personal family stuff and is off-limits.
In other words, people will ultimately decide based upon their own prejudices and bend reality to yield a rationale for why they voted they way they wanted to all along.
I still hope this year will be different, and I do think it will be a close tight race. But if you are looking for a rational reason it is tight, you are going to be searching a long, long time. And I doubt you'll find a more compelling reason than I just laid out.
